Cotes-de-Fer School

The Cotes-de-Fer primary school is located a few miles north of the small city of Cotes-de-Fer in the hills on the south central coast of Haiti. The school was founded in October of 1992 and currently has 133 students in Kindergarten through 7th grade. The buildings have cement/wood walls with tin roofs and are in good condition but there are less than adequate desks in each room.

Gris-gris School

The small remote community of Gris-gris is located in the central mountains of south Haiti northeast of Cotes-de-Fer. The road to the town is extremely bumpy and nearly impassable. The school was founded in October 1991 and currently has 171 students Kindergarten through 6th grade. The school building is in fair condition but some of the benches are in poor condition.

Sion School

Sion is located in south central Haiti adjacent to Cotes-de-Fer. The school was founded in October 1969 and currently has 115 students Kindergarten through 6th grade. The buildings are in fair condition but there are not enough benches for the students.

Mascary School Sponsored

The Mascary School was founded in 1980 and currently has 104 students K-6. The building is typical block with a tin roof. There are adequate benches but some are in disrepair. Mascary is located in the hills south of Miragoane. Roads are nearly impassable especially in the rainy season. This school really appreciates visits because they are so remote and feel forgotten.
