Traveling VBS is a HarvestCall ministry that sends teams of 5-8 to small churches to assist with VBS. The teams work with the local church to plan crafts, lessons, music, and activities for the kids, building relationships with kids and church members alike. Whether it’s a full week or a weekend VBS, the goal of Traveling VBS remains the same – to come alongside the local church in support and love.

Traveling VBS is a wonderful example of HarvestCall’s purpose statement in action: “enabling the brotherhood to proclaim Christ and serve others, beyond the capacity of the local church.” It is a ministry that serves small churches through teaching VBS, allowing us to come together with fellow believers to proclaim the Gospel to children of all ages. In doing so, we glorify the name of God through each person, young and old.

“...but God gave the increase” - 1 Corinthians 3:6

How did Traveling VBS start?

Ten years ago, Traveling VBS sent their first team of 4 to help with VBS in St. Louis. Since then, Traveling VBS has grown each year – in the number of volunteers as well as church locations. Each year, more churches express an interest in receiving a team, and more volunteers express an interest in serving. God has worked mightily through the willing hearts of team members, the support and responsiveness of the churches, and many people praying. For the summer of 2026, Traveling VBS is sending volunteers to nine churches all over the US and one in Canada! We praise God for His good gifts!
