Health Care Fellowship Conference

HarvestCall’s Medical Committee hosts an annual one-day conference to encourage, equip, and engage Apostolic Christian members and affiliates in the mission and ministry of health care.
This conference is open to anyone who works in the field of health care/mental health and those who support them (ex: EMT, social work, therapies, nutrition, dental, housekeeping, administration, spouses, parents, etc.)
This year's conference will be held on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 in Indianapolis, IN at the Apostolic Christian Church.

Caleb Schafer
Caleb and his wife Laura live in Carmel, IN. Together they have 5 bio children and 1 adopted adult child. He has been a minister at the Indianapolis AC Church since 2019. Caleb is an architectural designer and artist, and enjoys working from his home studio. Caleb enjoys approaching scripture with curiosity and wonder, having a respect for the original cultures and languages of the Bible.

Boyd is Emeritus Professor of Endocrinology, with a strong emphasis on clinical research regarding gestational diabetes, at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Sarah has worked for over 20 years as a nurse in a variety of roles including acute care, hospital management and leadership, and, more recently, nursing education.

Ryan Funk MD
Ryan is a board-certified Otolaryngologist–Head and Neck Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He currently practices in central Illinois, where he is a partner at Peoria Ear, Nose & Throat.

Megan Hodel RN
Megan serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Morton Apostolic Christian Restmor. She lives in Roanoke, IL with her husband Jonathan and their three children.

Aaron Plattner, MD
Aaron is a psychiatrist from Alto, Michigan who specializes in psychiatric care for the Intellectual and Developmentally Delayed population and also provides care through ACCFS.

Amit Parke FNP
Amit worked as a physician in South Asia in a mission-run hospital that served rural communities. After relocating to the US, he works as a Nurse Practitioner in nursing homes, serving the elderly population. He supports his wife, Sydney, as she homeschools their three daughters, and enjoys watching them grow into little disciples of Jesus.

Mellisa has served for 28 years as a bed-side/staff nurse at Methodist hospital in Peoria, IL (now Carle Health Methodist hospital) - the first 24 years in cardiovascular ICU, the last 4 years in pre-op/pacu/cpru (cardiac prep and recovery unit).

Joel Virkler MD & Amber Virkler
Joel and Amber support each other in their demanding full time jobs of homeschooling mother and Orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and sports medicine. They reside in Lafayette, Indiana with their four sons and one daughter.

Keyna Martinez MD
Keyna is a family physician, clinic medical director, volunteer clinical faculty for IU school of Medicine, and a regular preceptor for Memorial Hospital of South Bend’s family medicine residency. She supports her husband Joshua in the Pulpit Ministry and is enjoying watching her 4 sons grow into godly young men.

Eric is a house supervisor at a community hospital in a small town in West Virginia. He previously worked on a step-down unit at this same hospital and spent 3 years working as the "Patient Care Manager" at Hospital Lumiere in Bonne Fin, Haiti.

Clint Bahler MD
Clint studied engineering at Purdue University before completing his medical school at Indiana University in 2008. He completed his urologic surgery residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis and finally a fellowship in robotic surgery in Indianapolis with a masters degree in clinical research in 2015. He currently serves as an associate professor and director of research for the department of urology at Indiana University School of Medicine. His clinical practice and area of research are in prostate cancer. He attends the Indianapolis congregation with his wife and four kids.

Sam Manz MS LPSC/LPC
Sam is a dually licensed professional school/ community counselor who is full-time at a public high school and part-time/summers serving community clients — with affinity for acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), DNA-V, and impact therapy. Married to Shelby (Sinn) with 4 children (1 married), a first grandchild, and ministry opportunities on the Junction pulpit and Silver Lining features editing, he’s a wordsmith who seeks to passionately kindle Kingdom kinship.
