Start Here

  1. Contact kit coordinator Carol Indermuhle (330-658-4731) to determine which kits are currently needed.
  2. Read detailed instructions for your kit type so you can prepare:
    • Bag to pack items in (some are purchased and some are sewn)
    • Items for in the kit
    • Labels for each box of kits
  3. Bags for the kits can be made or inexpensive bags can be purchased at www.tansclub.com. Instructions for making drawstring bags or zippered sewing bags can be found at:
  4. Purchase items for the kits. (Note: School supplies can often be purchased for a good price during the back-to-school sales.)
  5. Labels are required to each box of kits to ensure that it gets routed to the correct distribution center. To obtain labels you may:
    • Order 3”x 4” labels with the HarvestCall logo and print required information on them (see example). Call 765-250-4295 or email info@harvestcall.org to order labels.
    • Order 3”x 4” labels already printed with your type of kit, kit contents, etc. by calling 765-250-4295 or emailing info@harvestcall.org. Allow 2-3 weeks for shipping.
    • Print your own labels on your own 3”x 4” blank labels (or print on plain paper and cut and tape them to the box.) Be sure your labels have all the required information on them.
  6. Organize a work night and create an assembly line to pack the kits.
  7. If using drawstring bags, after filling the kit, tie the strings in a bow so the contents don’t spill out. If it is in a knot and needs to be cut, they can’t reuse the tie string bag
  8. Completed boxes of kits can be delivered to the Distribution Center nearest you. Be sure to put the correct distribution center on the label and the kits will be routed appropriately. The distribution center for each kit is listed at the end of the kit title.
