If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please check the Jennings, Louisiana Rebuilding Ministry Schedule for available dates and fill out the form below. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to a five-day work week – afternoon departures on Friday are understood.
All volunteers will be limited to one week to give opportunity for others to serve.
Please refer to the participation guidelines for information regarding participation in this rebuilding ministry. Volunteers should be at least 16 years old to participate. An exception can be made for a 14- or 15-year-old who will be accompanied by a parent.
Each volunteer is requested to evaluate their own personal health before traveling to Louisiana. If you are not feeling well or are experiencing fever or other flu-like symptoms, please do not come. Our desire is to protect the health of our long-term team, those we are serving and the other volunteers. Thank you for your understanding and support in this effort.
Volunteers will be housed in dormitory style housing at Lake Arthur Campmeeting, Lake Arthur, LA. The camp is about 11 miles south of Jennings. All meals will be provided either at the camp or on the job site beginning on Sunday evening. Accommodations at the camp are available Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Volunteers should plan to depart by 5:00 pm on Friday. Weekends are used to clean and prepare for the incoming team.
NOTE – Those who choose to stay in a hotel need to communicate their intentions to the ministry coordinator after making their own arrangements via email – slagelachc@gmail.com
Please bring twin sheets, towels, pillowcases. We will provide bunk beds with a thick mattress, a blanket and pillow. Bring a jacket and plan to dress in layers as the temperatures will fluctuate during the day.
Registration at Lake Arthur Campmeeting will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 3:00 pm. A worship service will be held at 4:00pm followed by dinner at 5:30 pm and orientation immediately following dinner. All volunteers must be present for the orientation.
