Rittman Distribution Center

The Rittman HarvestCall Distribution Center is supported by the Rittman, Smithville, Akron, and Mansfield Apostolic Christian congregations.

Meat Canning

In a typical year, two meat canning sessions occur. Each session will see approximately 34,000 pounds of raw meat, usually turkey or pork, processed into some 20,000 28 oz. cans of USDA approved product.  Click here to learn more.

Packaged Meals

The packaged meal program provides 5 and 10 meal bags of Vegetable Barley Soup and Rice Pilaf for distribution to disaster areas, local food pantries, and on overseas shipments.  Click here to learn more.

Bucket Washing

A recycling program reclaims food grade buckets from a local ice cream plant. These buckets are washed and sorted, providing a steady supply of containers in which to ship food items.

Local Food Distribution

Many pallets of food are distributed locally through food pantries and other relief organizations. This food includes items that have been packaged at the center as well as food that has been donated by corporations.

Shipments of Food Items

A number of shipments are sent from the center with a final destination in another country. This includes sea containers that are loaded here as well as truck loads of product that will be assembled for shipment at another location. Among the list of destinations in recent years have been shipments to Haiti, Nicaragua, and Kenya. Local drivers also haul goods among the distribution centers in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois on a regular basis.

Eastern Europe Shipments

The Rittman Center serves as a collection point for items that the European Committee coordinates for shipment to Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries. One project has been sending farm equipment to brethren in Ukraine. Also, many comforters have been made by numerous Apostolic Christian congregations' sewing groups. The comforters go to the elderly in our sister church and also help support the outreach program in the communities near some of their congregations in Romania.

Yes, It Gets There!

Photos and letters of gratitude provide reassurance that these programs and products are reaching their intended destinations.

Sewing Projects

The Rittman Center also includes a sewing room. Sewing projects were the foundational motivation of World Relief since its inception and continue to reflect the core values of Apostolic Christian HarvestCall.
